Omni – Pension Schemes Online -
Settings
|
Various returns need to be
made each year to HMRC, including APSS301 (SSAS Scheme Return) and APSS313 (SIPP
Scheme Return).
Pension Schemes Online is
accessed from Omni’s Reports menu. With the Pension Schemes Online module
there is a Settings menu which has options of:
·
General
·
Practitioner
·
Administrator
General Settings
The General screen has 3 sections:
·
The Accounting Period
section stores details of the accounting period being used for the return
– this will normally be the latest tax year.
·
The Miscellaneous
section shows how the assets have been valued.
·
The Global HMRC
Credentials stores the Administrator ID/Practitioner ID and the User ID and password
If you are submitting the return as the
Administrator then you should complete the Administrator ID, User ID and
password fields and enter ‘0’ in the Password ID field.
If you are submitting the return as the
Practitioner then you should complete the Practitioner ID field and the User ID
and password fields with the details for the Practitioner.
This screen applies to all schemes and so
you should only amend these details when you are ready to submit the return so
that you don’t affect returns being submitted for other schemes. Only 1
person in a firm should be submitting returns at any time.
If you normally submit returns for a
global administrator then it is recommended that you enter those global administrator
details after submitting a return as a practitioner.
Practitioner Settings
The Practitioner screen stores the details
required if you want to submit the scheme return as practitioner for a specific
scheme. The details do not apply to any other scheme.
Do not enter any data if you wish to
submit the scheme return as the global administrator or any other administrator
(in this situation, if you have opened the screen then use the Delete button).
Administrator Settings
The Administrator screen should not be
completed if you are submitting as the global administrator (in which case details
should be entered in the General Settings screen).
It should be used if:
a)
you want to submit the
return as practitioner, to identify the administrator on whose behalf you are
acting,
or
b)
you are submitting the
return as an administrator other than the global administrator.
If (a) applies do not enter the Online
User ID or Password because the details on the Practitioner screen will be
used.
The details do not apply to any other
scheme apart from the scheme selected.
