XL Reports - Investments

Many reports are straightforward. The following illustrates the type of report included:

FinStat Codes

A list of all investments that have Finstat codes stored, showing the manager, fund name and Finstat codes.

Valuations of All SIPPs

A list of all SIPPs can be produced showing the total value of all investments for each SIPP. For each scheme, this is the same value as produced from ‘Reports, Investment Valuation’. Bank balances at the selected date are included and any bank borrowing is deducted. Debtors and creditors are included. Any past valuation date can be entered. The total of all values across all SIPPs is also shown. There is a large amount of processing involved – a report on 500 schemes takes around 10 minutes on a fast machine.

This will automatically include each member’s share of the value of property syndicates within the individual SIPP value i.e. by selecting Live and Pensioners (and not Syndicates) in the Scheme Status you will include the property syndicate values.

The report can be used for exercises such as analysing the quality or type of business written over the last year (to help satisfy the FSA ‘know your business’ requirement). The report therefore shows the date that each scheme was set up. The quality of business introduced by different advisers can be analysed and so the Agent column is included. The Scheme Notes column is included so that known issues can be highlighted e.g. ‘SIPP set up for property purchase which did not proceed’.

Capital Adequacy Values

The full valuations report can be used to assess the capital requirement based on the assets currently in the Omni database. The report will value ALL the schemes and then supply the relevant constant, take into account the value of non-standard assets and provide the overall figure for capital adequacy reporting.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, ANY ASSET TICKED AS BEING NON-STANDARD, UCIS OR OTHER NON-MAINSTREAM WILL BE COUNTED AS NON-STANDARD ASSET FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE REPORT.

Check Investment Transactions

Purchases and sales of investments are entered as bank transactions. The details of the investments bought are also entered ‘Investment, Investment Transactions’. If the ‘Show transactions that match’ box is not ticked, a report is produced showing schemes where the total amounts of purchases or sales differ over the selected period. If that box is ticked, a report is produced showing all schemes where there has been at least one transaction and the bank transactions match the investment transactions.

Schemes with just Property or Cash

A list of all schemes which only have property and/or cash.

List of All Assets

A report of all assets across all schemes, with their latest values.

All Employer Loans

All loanbacks are listed with all the information from Omni’s screen (Direct Investments, Employer Loans). In addition the number of expected transactions in the bank account for each loan are shown. Expected transactions are generated a year at a time and so, for a monthly loan, there should be no more than 12 expected payments. If there are more than 12 then it indicates that the expected transactions are not being used properly. If there are no expected transactions then it might be that expected transactions are not being used at all.

UCIS

A list of schemes with holdings in different investments classed as UCIS (Unregulated Collective Investment Schemes). The UCIS information is stored via the Stocks screen (Amend button).

Investment List

A list of all investments that are not segregated portfolios, loans or properties, showing the number of schemes holding each investment. The stock’s notes field is also shown. Archived stocks are ignored.
