XL Reports - Financial Sanctions Register

Accessed from the Miscellaneous tab of XL Reports, it checks the Omni database to verify that no clients are on the HM Treasury’s Financial Sanctions Register.

The Monthly Assumptions email includes the Financial Sanctions Register from HM Treasury’s website. The date that the local copy was last updated is displayed on the Financial Sanctions Register screen.

If you prefer, the Financial Sanctions Register can be obtained directly from HM Treasury’s website using your internet browser and saving in your database as ‘sanctionsconlist.xls’.

Clicking ‘Run Report’ produces a list of everyone in the Omni database who has a possible match on the Sanctions Register.

All names in the Omni address book are checked. A record is shown as a possible match if the surname is present in the Register and one of the forenames in the Register matches one of the forenames stored in Omni. This will mean that some members are shown as possible matches even though there is not a complete match. The possible matches will need to be checked against the other details shown in the register.

All NI numbers are also checked.

The numbers of records checked are displayed in the report.

Ex-members are included in the check to see whether proceeds of crime may have already passed through the scheme.
